Biloxi is the fifth largest city in the state of Mississippi and a melting pot of cultures, food, and entertainment. Within city limits is the Keesler Air Force Base. Biloxi is home to many service men and women who are stationed at Keesler Air Force Base. The 2nd Air Force, 403rd Wing, and the 85th Engineering Installation Squadron are located at the base. It handles more that 28,000 students, has 400 courses covering over 30 different career fields.

Biloxi Events & Entertainment

There are two entertainment districts in Biloxi, one being along the beachfront and the other is a historic district. Biloxi has a number of historical attractions and art museums. The Biloxi Lighthouse, declared a Mississippi landmark in 1987, and welcomes residents and visitors to the Gulf Coast. A great symbol of the human spirit, the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art has transformed since Hurricane Katrina and displays innovative pieces from Mississippi-native, George Ohr. For musical or theater performances, the Saenger Theater is a historical city building in the heart of downtown.

The Biloxi Chamber of Commerce hosts multiple events throughout the year for the city and its members. The Biloxi Seafood Festival is an annual event that celebrates the city's culture and connection to seafood over two days. The festival has delicious food - fresh seafood from the Gulf of Mexico - and live performances from local musicians. Uncorked is a wine tasting and silent auction fundraiser to support the Chamber of Commerce grant and scholarship fund.

Biloxi has 9 casino resorts which have 24-hour gambling, a number of concerts that attract big name performers, and many restaurants. Many of these casinos sit along the coast have stunning views of the water.

Biloxi Outdoor Exploration

Residents and vacationers enjoy Biloxi's miles of sandy white beaches and easy access to the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Relax on the beach, take the boat out, or cast a line in both salt and fresh water. Biloxi Beach is right off the mainland and is a popular spot to enjoy a warm day. Ship Island, part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore, is just a few miles off the coast and can be accessed by charter boat.

This island is a beach lover's paradise, with miles of white sandy shores and clear waters. There are a number of beautiful golf courses, many of which have waterfront views and are open to the public

Biloxi is home to delicious seafood fare, casual eateries, and upscale restaurants. The Biloxi casino resorts have a number of restaurants, from upscale to laid back, and due to the close proximity to the gulf, seafood is a popular go-to for residents and visitors alike.

Half Shell Oyster House is a well known Gulf Coast chain and a staple for fresh oysters. Shaggy's at Biloxi Beach and McElroy's HarborHouse both have stunning views of the water and offer casual dining for the entire family. Mary Mahoney's Old French House combines Southern cuisine with French influences and is a great option for formal outings.
