Pass Christian Beaches & Outdoors

Pass Christian is home to some of the finest oyster reef in the world. There are 9 oyster reefs and some areas are open for oystermen to farm. Being on the Gulf of Mexico and its accessibility to fresh seafood and shellfish, Pass Christian is the perfect coastal city to enjoy fishing and eating delicious seafood caught that same day.

The main beach of Pass Christian, Pass Christian Beach, is one of the few Gulf Coast cities with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. The white-sand is soft and the water is a beautiful emerald green. 

Just off the coast of Pass Christian is Cat Island. Cat Island is one of the barrier islands and is part of the Gulf Island National Seashore. It is known for its distinct "T" shape and preserved natural landscape. There are a number of charters and sightseeing tours of the barrier islands. Coast Adventures is one sightseeing and adventure service that explores Cat Islands and the surrounding areas.

Pass Christian Downtown

Pass Christian's downtown, Main Street, is a historical center with a number of locally owned shops, boutiques, galleries, cafés, and restaurants. This vibrant city is as much a place as it is a state of mind.

Sherman Castle was designed and built by James M. Sherman, an author, horticulturist, and agriculturist that lives in Pass Christian in 1921. This castle is a Pass Christian landmark and brings an eclectic variety to the city's architecture. The Middlegate Japanese Gardens are another attraction that brings additional diversity to Pass Christian's community. Built between 1923 and 1929, this lovely garden boasts the inspiration of Japanese culture and art.
